I’m celebrating the Fourth Sunday in Lent in Haines, AK at St. Michael’s and All Angels. It is deeply refreshing to be back to visiting our communities and to see people and places without the filter of an internet stream and computer screen.
Seeing for me is often clearer–more vivid, when it includes all the senses. Our eyes can limit what we see and disconnect what we are observing from our soul. The soul sees as much with the heart as the eyes and employs the whole body to connect us with the world.
The gospel story for this Sunday is one of blindness and sight. Jesus heals vision by calling us to see beyond the limits of our sight and expectations.
